Chris sings: Turbulence is so strangely logical distorting stress to clarity meaning rests on subtle understandings  Of not causes and affect Learn worldliness from grappling with the ordinary Subversive not subservient I don't care about the little things any more Anywhere I live is beautiful Anne sings: All the rooms are taken at the Totem Pole Motel We're all part of each others' patterns The Harleys are parked in the yard We have breakfast in Concrete Dr. Dionysus sets his decks up in my yard He's the master of all that's nasty We dance all night in the barn By the light of the lasers This restaurant is wired for Mysterioso sound All the mountains come from fire The soil is rocky and black And the wine tastes of lava All the rooms are taken at the Totem Pole Motel We're all part of each others' patterns The Harleys are parked in the yard We have breakfast in Concrete

I’ve been playing deep on the edge of chaos playing for keeps like there's no tomorrow morality framed by mortality Deconstructing from inside a personality that's had its time foundations of the ego crumbling Been looking for reasons, only finding rhymes Searching for meaning when I find the time capabilities become uncertainties seen too much to be innocent lived too much for ambivalence now I'm playing deep on the edge Play is a source of self-control It keeps you sane on a downwards roll Play keeps you young when you’re growing old Play keeps you loose when you lose control Gives your heart a beat when it’s growing cold Play grows heart and soul

Cheer up Kim 04:04
Anne sings: Cheer up Kim, it might never happen You're so lucky to be a rock star You can live in a great big mansion Everybody knows just who you are A Jersey girl named Patti worked in the Piss Factory She ran away to New York City, like Jersey girls do She met a photographer there named Robert Mapplethorpe They went to Coney Island together and wore hats They fell in love, they were just kids Cheer up Kim, it might never happen You're so lucky to be who you are You can live out there in the country Everybody knows you're a rock star Now, this Jersey girl Patti, she went out on the road with her band And they became big stars. They were the Patti Smith Group And they had hit records and travelled the world Then she gave it all up. She married Fred Sonic Smith and they moved to Detroit to raise a family together But he died, it was so sad, he died. She's back on the road with her band now She's an artist, she's a magician, she's a shaman, she's a musician She's a summer cannibal, she's an American artist and she has no guilt And she shall live again Cheer up Kim, it might never happen I'm so sorry that you find it hard You can be who you want to be now Everybody knows you're a rock star But it's hard, I know it's hard for you I know it's hard, I know it's hard for you It's hard for you, it's hard take it easy on yourself, I know it's hard take it easy on yourself, I know it's hard Chris sings: We talk in the language of space and of time Live through our bodies in rhythm and rhyme Forcing some distance from reality Meeting the universe halfway and dancing (If I)started again I would be a dancer strutting with chaos with possibilities  I would weave motion with time as potential  My stage the as ifs, the nearlys, the almosts I'm only living when I am dancing Only real through rhythm and movement I swing the beat and make it my own  My grasp of reality light as my footsteps

I’m running with the black dog now Running fast but he's leading somehow I’m running with the black dog now Seeing dark through black fog eyes now I’m cutting with the black dog now Paws are slicing through dreams made flesh now Vitality dimming in early dawn moonlight Tension fighting intentionality

I’m perving Over plastic When it’s backlit When it’s perfect Crustacean state of knowing Not anthropocene era Turning into oil But the feeling Before there were feelings From the maelstrom Event revealing I’m perving Over plastic When it’s backlit When it’s perfect Peak oil reached Population ignoring this dis-narration This discourse Even, even not believing Trying to not knowing Possibility conditioning Learning how to fail

How does it feel to be an explorer? Infinite time, and possibility How does it feel to be out there? Deep in space, beyond the system How does it feel, to be out here Looking back, too late to turn back How does it feel to be an explorer?

Anne sings: The God Osiris on the underground The devil's playground is always open Maximo is smoking on the underground The golden dragon is floating through the tunnels My left is in my right, my right is in my left My left is in my right, my right is in my left My left is in my right, my right is in my left My left is in my right is in my left Chris sings: Here we come, we ride into your town with attitude, our thoughts are upside-down Looky here, look into the future Think Tao, you assume it can't be found My right is in my left My left is in the stars my up is in your down my down is in your head your head is my hands my heart is on my sleeve I’m wanting to believe oh yeah Nomad thoughts, riding differently so let’s create extraordinary worlds we’re in a now that began some time ago so perform in ways we need to reach tomorrow My right is in my left My left is in the stars my up is in your down my down is in your head your head is my hands my heart is on my sleeve I’m wanting to believe oh yeah

I’m looking for some agency To go with my identity But not the kind of agency You’re calling on your telephone Mistaking my identity Listed as a wanted man But now I’ve got that sorted I’m getting on the case I’m detecting Deducing Carousing Cruising Searching for clues to my enlightenment Creating an assemblage To maximise my joyfulness Researching all the qualities of Eudaimonia Mixing up some justice with A dose of truthfulness Wrap it in some courage And away we go I’m creating conceiving Constructing Construing Putting it together the best way that I can I’m singing I’m shouting Searching Destroying Looking for the moment but it’s still eluding me I’m singing I’m shouting Attaining Still searching for two pounds of funk in a one pound bag

about

This is our first full length album, coming after three EPs recorded over the last decade or so. It's taken us almost a year to record all the tracks, and it feels like a transition between a kind of a discordant lo-fi pop and a noisier, darker more electronic-based direction, driven as much by synths as by guitars. Lyrically it's a combination of bastardised post-structuralist philosophy and fan-girl driven gushing, with the odd random bits of nonsense just so we don't take ourselves too seriously!
